In the midst of Chillhop Records’ ‘Chillhop Essentials - Summer 2018’ project, Tuesday saw respected Hip-Hop producer Ian Ewing blessing our ears with a brand new mellow instrumental in the form of ‘LuvnYou’. The ambient composition blends the conventional Hip-Hop skills of sampling, subby bass lines, shuffling 4/4 drum beats and warm neo-soul chord progressions but adds a certain dreamy atmosphere that’s all Ewing's own. A self-taught instrumentalist (hailing from Milwaukee), Ewing has now been endorsed by the likes of DJ Complexion and Soulection. Check out Ewing’s spacious, uncomplicated productions on SoundCloud which share a few influences from such genres as Futurebeats and Lo-Fi.
